Influenster Jolly Vox Box 2013

Oddly enough Influenster's x-mas box actually seemed more like the college one or the one that seemed more fit for college students. The items I received were mini ducklings duck tape, Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer, a box of caramel skinny cow chocolates, NYC HD Color Trio eyeshadow palate, and Puffs tissues.

Mini Ducklings

You can't go wrong with Duck Tape even if it is miniature.  I've already used mine to make a much  needed lanyard and I also see it being useful to keep old folders and trapper keepers together. There is no end on what you can do with duck tape.

Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer

I'm actually a fan of the Rimmel London product line. I'm especially a fan of the Kate Moss lipstick, but to be honest the lip lacquer just doesn't do it for me. I find the product a bit to goupy and have trouble putting it on correctly. I also must admit the color just isn't right for me, so it's hard to make it look good. The product does get points for its cool design, but I don 't see myself buying it in the future.

NYC HD Color Trio

I really do love this one. It doesn't hurt that the colors work just perfectly for me. I do love the natural look and it fits so perfectly in my purse. I've been looking for something that would be a cheaper/smaller version of my Too Faced naturals collection and this just fits the bill. I'm so happy I got this! <3

Caramel Skinny Cow Chocolates

My favorite by far. These taste great and package of three chocolates is only 130 calories, which is nice considering how fat the holidays have been. I just recently moved out and these have been a godsend considering I'm currently too cheap to buy junk food.  Anything with chocolate is good, but a slightly healthier version is even better. My current favorite treat while watching Breaking Bad. It seriously takes me two days to watch one episode, but it's a great way to unwind. I will probably be getting more skinny cow products in the future. :D

Puffs

Not much to say here. They are well known for a reason and I already had a mini pack of puffs in my purse to begin with. These will probably take their place once I run out. I can especially see these coming in handy with cold season coming up.

Overall: four winners out of five. I can't argue with that.  I hope all my voxboxes will be like that from now on. I do wish that influenster would do a beauty profile, to help make sure the right color or product would go to the right person. It's kind of hard to give an honest review when the product doesn't really fit you in the first place.

More Content to come. I won't be just be posting subscription box reviews.

Influenster Varsity Box 2013

For those who don't know, Influenster is a site that plays into the whole mail in box trend. It's free to sign up and based on your interests and daily activities you qualify for certain boxes or promotions. The catch is that in order to keep qualifying for boxes you must give your opinion on the products you received. It's basically a new way for marketers to gain the public's interest in their products. I personally love the idea. This year I have received the Sweetheart box, a coupon for a free Kefir product, and recently the Varsity Box. The Varsity Box was targeted towards college students and included items that would interest any girl that was the traditional college student.

My Varsity Box included

Airheads Extremes Bites: These brought back memories from my childhood. I shared a bag of these with my brother, while watching Thor. That brought me back to the days, when I would buy a 6-pack of the regular airheads and share them with my brother. They are an interesting update and I really enjoyed the sour flavor. I think they make a nice addition to the airheads family, but I don’t think they quite live up to the original regular flavors. The issues I have with them is that a bite is composed of different flavors instead of one, so unfortunately they all sort of taste like sugar/sour bites. Still not a bad treat and my brother certainly liked them.
Clearasil Superfruit Wash: I got three sample packet of  these and I must say that these different companies are probably really benefiting with partnering up with Influenster because I will probably be picking up a bottle of the facewash in the future. In the past I had been a soap and water girl, but after I enjoyed influenster I really began to change that. My first box included Olay va va vid fresh effects and I still am using that very same package they gave me back from February. The Clearasil Superfruit face wash is just as good and I loved how clean and fresh it made my face feel. It wasn't sticky like I was expecting it to be and it had a great smell to go with it as well.

Kiss Nail Dress stickers: I sadly didn't get a chance try this out. I know for a fact my poor nails would be chipped within hour. Sadly, with one of my jobs, my nails would be chipped within hours. It also doesn't help that the little studs on the nails would probably guarantee that. I will be sure to try these out during the break and give them a proper review.

NYC Big Bold Gloss: I'll be honest, I don't wear lipgloss. When I do anything with my lips, I just wear tinted lipbalm of wear lipstick. That to keep in mind, I didn't hate this product. I enjoyed the coloring and I like the lip plumper that was included. I think it's kind of cool they can do that with lipgloss. Even though I already have full lips the, the lip plumper certainly had an effect. The one thing I hated about this product was how sticky it was. It's probably a nice product for the price though, it's just not for me.
Tide Pods: I love these products. I can see students using these for the laundry room or for travel. I can honestly just throw one of these in my purse and call it good. They also get the job done and are in my opinion the most practical thing included in the box.

The Verdict: I enjoyed the box, but I don't think it completely served the average college student in mind. I like beauty products just as much as the next person, but I feel like my box was too beauty focused. Instead of the Airheads Extrems, I would have appreciated something a little bit healthier and I really wish that the beauty products included were more for an actual college who has to spend much of their time studying and working.  In the future I would like Influenster to include items that can be both  fun and useful. I know the last Varsity box included a pen with an eraser and beleive me, a pen is far more precious than any tube of lipgloss. The two items I do recommend are the tide pods and the facewash.
